A Georgetown fixture since the early 1930s, Martin's Tavern leans decisively towards the historical - rather than the trendy - aspect of this neighborhood. The former New York Giants baseball player William G. Martin opened this neighborhood pub in 1933. Today his grandson, Billy Martin runs the family business. Dark wood paneling and touches of hunter green make for an attractive interior. The menu features American and continental classics - steak and seafood as well as pasta served with marinara or alfredo sauces.

Fabulous. Service was amazing staff so helpful and attentive had time to answer all my questions even though they were very busy. Excellent food lovely menu We loved it so much we are heading back tonight

One incredible experience happened here! As we enjoyed the house speciality, we had no idea the hospitality of this famous joint on Wisconsin Ave. was going through the roof! The staff working at Martin's Tavern are truly cut from the Golden Rule! Alejandro & Rob are truly great at allowing outsiders to feel like you are at home! It really was hard to leave the house that many Congress leaders & Presidents enjoyed! When in DC go visit this great bar!

Service is super great and our waiter was more than accommodating . I would have added one more star however I would love it Martins Tavern would add a few vegan dinner / lunch options . The kitchen made something for me . Even just a vegan burger would be great . Thank you for considering.
Attentive and friendly staff. High energy, interesting joint, with a lot of history. Wonderful oyster stew! And I loved the Black Walnut Manhattans.
