A Georgetown fixture since the early 1930s, Martin's Tavern leans decisively towards the historical - rather than the trendy - aspect of this neighborhood. The former New York Giants baseball player William G. Martin opened this neighborhood pub in 1933. Today his grandson, Billy Martin runs the family business. Dark wood paneling and touches of hunter green make for an attractive interior. The menu features American and continental classics - steak and seafood as well as pasta served with marinara or alfredo sauces.

Cool spot in Georgetown with lots of History. The cocktails, food and Ambiance are great. Story is that JFK proposed to Jackie in booth #3. Did not see any Dignitaries there but thought we might since recently we saw a news commercial in which Greta van Sustern claims that she gets some of her news stories while there. Casual and not stuffy.
So glad we walked across the river from Arlington. Stan was thee BEST bartender! Great drink suggestions, wonderful conversation and awesome service. I'm a Martin so surely must be related to this fine crew. Can't wait to meet Billy.
Business response:
I will look forward to meeting you too Sue!
I've been a Martin's Tavern patron for almost 20 years. It's always a special place to take out-of-town guests and we are consistently treated special. Excellent crab cakes! The food and service are consistently outstanding. If you haven't been to Martin's, go, you'll love it and want to go back often!
Business response:
Thank you Joe! We really enjoy taking care of you, your family and guest! See you again soon!
