A Georgetown fixture since the early 1930s, Martin's Tavern leans decisively towards the historical - rather than the trendy - aspect of this neighborhood. The former New York Giants baseball player William G. Martin opened this neighborhood pub in 1933. Today his grandson, Billy Martin runs the family business. Dark wood paneling and touches of hunter green make for an attractive interior. The menu features American and continental classics - steak and seafood as well as pasta served with marinara or alfredo sauces.

Excellent brunch menu and wonderful service. Our waiter was great and the manager even came by to see if everything was going well.
AMAZING bangers & mash! Fantastic atmosphere and incredible staff. Definitely a place we will frequent if ever in DC again!

Great service, bartenders were funny and very personable, the tavern was rich in history, bartenders educated us on the history and the people who have visited the pub, etc. We had a wonderful time sharing stories at the bar. Met some awesome people here and will go back to try the food next time in Georgetown. I’m not a beer or coffee drinker, but was given a taste of the Creator Destroyer. Let me say this - best beer ever!!!!! A local DC coffee infused beer may have just become my favorite drink if I can have it delivered ... read more

We enjoyed our Sunday brunch at Martins. We loved hearing the history of the tavern through the eyes of the locals and the very sweet bartender. We also enjoyed the game day conversation and local bourbon provided by the bartender. Great food, great ambiance and great history lesson.
Excellent food, professional & friendly service + great presidential stories that happened here.
We had no reservation but the staff could not have been more helpful, quickly finding us a booth. The food was delicious and the service superb including the fascinating history we heard about the place. Would highly recommend.
