The former New York Giants baseball player William G. Martin opened this neighborhood pub in 1933. Today his grandson, Billy Martin runs the family business. Dark wood paneling and touches of hunter green make for an attractive interior. The menu features American and continental classics - steak and seafood as well as pasta served with marinara or alfredo sauces.

We spent the weekend at Georgetown had breakfast lunch and dinner for 11 people . The liver I had for lunch was unbelievable and I haven't tasted a priime rib that good since I left New York 30 years ago. A s special thank you to Luis who made our night so special . Did I mention 9 of our dinner party was from Argentina and Luis made them feel right sat home can't wait to go back and again thank you Luis

In town to look at the university, we stumbled across the tavern. It was just after New Years Day, but the tavern was still delightfully and charmingly decorated for the holidays. Our wait staff couldn't have been more attentive, made menu suggestions, kept glasses filled, very friendly. I chose the pot roast. My husband went with Martin's house specialty. Both were delicious as were the fried green tomato appetizer. My entire family loved our experience. Now if my daughter can only get into GU....
