Great Margaritas and Yummy Appetizers! – This is a nice, cozy place to unwind after a long day at work. There's good customer service, inexpensive happy hour prices, and they provide valet parking for a small fee. There's hardly any street parking available nearby. Happy Hour is from 4-7pm (Mon-Fri). Perfect Place To Kick Back With Friends... – I recently went to Marix Cafe for the first time for happy hour with my co-workers and had a great time. It's a very laid-back atmosphere, outdoors (but you're covered). It really reminded me of those restaurants in Miami on Ocean Drive. Felt like I was on vacation. The yummy margaritas were really good too. To my surprise, it was pretty packed at 5pm. I would definitely recommend it if you wanna try something new.
Great happy hour scene on Friday afternoon – The margaritas go down smooth, and the steak quesadillas were very very tasty. It's definitely a cool place to chill after work, unwind...the fact that it was partly open to the skies made it feel airy and cool. Parking can be a beast but there's valet.
Never going there! – I heard this Big time Film/TV Producer CRACKED his tooth on some STALE tortilla there!! And he's not Sumner Redstone's age, He's young!...Stale tortilla at Marix!!! Come on guys...With those prices, there should be corn growing in the back. NOT for me...Unfortunately Marix needs to stay lost in the Matrix. Maybe he just needed some more margarita...woulda' made the pain go away!
Flovorless Fajitias – They should be ashamed to call themselves Tex anything. The chicken fajitas (to go, I was visiting at Cedars-Sinai) looked and tasted like a half-pound of boiled chicken, onions and peppers--un-browned and un-seasoned and soaking in a puddle of yellow broth. margaritas. mexican food. yum. – best margarita. delicious food. great service. i like the atmosphere, though when i went the music was incredibly loud. but i enjoyed my meal a great deal and i highly recommend it.
Fun staff and yummy enchiladas The staff here is super fun and friendly! Also a good place to have a star sighting. Both times I've been here I've ordered the enchiladas suizas- which are amazing! Creamy and spicy at the same time! Have a margarita with it and it's a fun and tasty $20 event.
Marix is not set on impressing. The food is your basic Mexican food done American style. You know the kind - drowning in yellow cheese, sour cream and marginal guacamole. However, I've been there about a hundred times and it was on about visit 90 that I discovered the shrimp enchiladas and I've stuck with them since. Good food, lively atmosphere – Marix is one of the neighborhood favorite hangouts for some good food, drinks, and socializing. All the entrees have a bit of a kick to them, which totally satisfies my need for strong flavor. The staff are usually pretty busy but manage to come by frequently to check on things.
