A fascinating place to visit on one of the monthly open days - see photo for schedule. While I am sure it is spectacular as an event venue, to have the time to wander and wonder at the building interior is an hour well spent. Knowledgable guides bring to life to story of the murals and the history of the building. Rightly called Edinburgh’s Sistine Chapel.

Often called “Edinburgh’s Sistine Chapel,” this magnificent former Catholic Apostolic Church is renowned for its breathtaking murals painted by Phoebe Anna Traquair in the late 19th century. The venue is a late 18th-century church beautifully converted into an event space, with a warm ambiance and welcoming hospitality. The selection of wine and beer is excellent, and the entertainment is a real highlight, especially the wonderful Scottish band and performances, which truly stand out.
