I'll keep it short and sweet: This is seriously the best place I've had the pleasure of staying at. We will be back and we've spread the word on this awesome place to family and friends! I couldn't have asked for a better stay for an easy getaway with my wife
Wonderful and relaxing experience! The Inn is well appointed with an upscale rustic experience in the middle of the Shawnee National forest.The Innkeepers treated us with a gourmet breakfast and welcoming spirit! Can't wait to return again!!
If anyone is looking for a weekend getaway, Makanda Inn is the place to go. Located out in the woods down from Makanda Boardwalk. The atmosphere there is outstanding and the inn keepers Malcolm and Lorriane are fantastic host, the breakfast they made was fantastic and explained where the ingredients came from. We had so much fun and laughter with all the other couples that were there and most definitely will be going back there again. Thank you both for a very wonderful time. Jim and Amy

We had such a great time here! While roadtripping from Chicago to New Orleans, it was very nice to have some quiet time and relax. Great interior too in our cottage!
Can't say enough about the Inn, Loraine, or Malcolm! Great suite, great food, great innkeeper! Will definitely be going back to this piece of heaven in the Shawnee National Forest, but next time with friends to share the experience with!!!
