My husband Craig, along with another friend spent last weekend in the beautiful West End Cottage ( 2 bedrooms and 2 bath ) at Makanda Inn and cottages. Malcolm and Lorraine were perfect host and hostess to us. They went above and beyond to insure our comfort. When I made the reservation on phone I had mentioned to Lorraine I was bringing a friend along to celebrate her belated birthday. Had a fabulous birthday weekend in Makanda and LOVED staying at the Makanda Inn! Perfect place for a wonderful getaway! Beautiful architecture, friendly atmosphere, great food, amazing surroundings...just all around impressive! We will be back! ��
Even in the winter this was so nice. Hiked the nearby forest, had a glass of wine and dinner at Von Jakob winery . Next visit will be on 2 wheels in the summer.

We absolutely loved this place. Malcolm and Loraine made it warm, welcome and perfect. We plan to come back! Clean, comfortable, welcoming, wonderful breakfasts and down to earth, generous people. Highly recommend this B and B to anyone!
Spent 3 nights at the Inn and Cabins with our entire family...for Thanksgiving and a 70th Birthday Celebration. We had the best time laughing, hiking, BBQing, playing games and sharing drinks and meals in the great room. It was the perfect place for us all to be together with not a worry in the world. Loraine and Malcolm (the Innkeepers) took care of us including making sure the fire was always roaring at night. Great stay!!!!
Just enjoyed five nights at the beautifully peaceful Makanda Inn. Our room and its amenities exceeded the online descriptions which led us to choose Makanda Inn in the first place. I am Kelly's mom Jackie. Me and my husband John stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary. I absolutely loved it. If you are looking for a truly unique place to stay, this is it! The cottage was wonderful. So comfortabe and private! The breakfast was delicious. I would highly recommend staying here. Perfect for the wine trails! Thanks Malcom and Loraine, our host, for making our stay memorable.
