Advertised as dog friendly but isn't really. Booked 2 nights. Both mornings we were placed at a tiny table next to the reception desk and front door (which was cold) for our breakfast because we were not allowed in the dining room...I appreciate dogs not being welcome in some places when people are eating, but at least have a designated room like all other hotels have, otherwise you are falsely advertising that you are dog friendly when in reality you just tolerate them. We went here for a meal. You need to pre-book. It was fabulous. Food served on hot plates. Food fresh, tasty and hot. Prompt friendly, pleasant service from staff. Highly recommended.
Just had our wedding here at the weekend (16.08.2025) and what a weekend it was. We started off with a lovely meal on Friday night which was delicious. The rooms were all lovely and clean and super comfortable. The staff at Mabie House couldn’t have been more attentive and helpful, they made us feel so at home.
