Not bad – The atmosphere is nice and cozy. The service was not bad considering it was a Friday night. The food was alright also. I had a salad, it was alright. Had a slight taste of unwashed lettuce. The mushroom ravioli is to DIE FOR. It's fabulous.
Yummy! – The food was great, the drinks were great, the service was ok. You have to wait a while if you don't have reservations...so call ahead!! I had this mushroom ravioli. it was delicious! For dessert...a round of s'mores for the table PLEASE! yummy! The price is not that bad. *^^* Parking is either valet or street.
OK, but Gimicky & Small Portions – The place has some style, but the ambience doesn't follow through. Typical LA 'tude at the door (we were there at 5:25, they open at 5:30, pompous hostess would NOT open the door - at least put a bench outside!) Good bar service - but take away the gross spanish peanuts. Tasty mojitos. Goat cheese w/ toast and apples - tiny portion. Artichoke was OK at best but, again, only half - small. My flatiron steak was overcooked and salty, but the mashed potatoes were good - could use some lumps or ... read more
buh-bye frozen pizza, hello Luna! – Not everyone has the money to eat out all the time. Not everyone has the will power to eat frozen pizzas at home, either. So when I discovered Luna Park I was blown away at how good the food was and how low everything was priced. The atmosphere is ridiculously laid back and cool, the service is totally unpretentious and friendly and the check at the end of the night was so reasonable I don't think I'll ever go back to frozen pizza again. Thank god.
Great Place, Normally Busy – Its too bad that this is a standout in L.A., but it has that normal NY/SanFran feel for your neighborhood resturant. Not too big, not too small, a nice bar to sit at for a couple hours, eat and drink. The food was tasty, very Daily Grill-ish (I had the mussels for app, a watercress salad, and the steak)... finally a great neighborhood joint. The atmosphere was intimate and great service. And their moitos, unreal. I can't wait until the summer when I can walk over there from my apartment and spend... read more
I'm loony for Luna Park – Went on a busy Friday night and was amazed at the excellent service. Hostess was super nice when we (two girls) asked if we could have a booth. She obliged as long as we could leave before the next reservation (1.5 hours later) which was no problem for us. Waiter was fun and helpful. The mojito was tasty and packed quite a punch. I inhaled my burger and fries. We shared the s'mores dessert which was too much fun!
Pleasant All Around – Been here twice now; above-average experience both times. Service is friendly, attentive and efficient. Goat cheese fondue appetizer and s'mores dessert are both a lot of fun and a must-try. Entrees were good. Ambience is warm and homey. (Best to get a booth, though. Mid-room tables can be a little tight.) Overall, a fantastic value in LA.
Good Things Going On – I have been to this place a few times now, and it only seems to get busier and better. It was a great place when not a lot of people knew about it, and might be more fun, now that the word is out. The bar crowd is comfy and sharp, and the food is just simply tasty. When I take people here, there is no food left, and we are very satisfied. You can even hang out and watch the kitchen as they whip up and whirl away amongst flames with style. Just a lot of fun, affordable, and sharp.
A good deal – Quality comfort food, a decent space and no pretense. The place was empty when I went on a Sunday, so I can't really judge the crowd. Ingredient quality was good and, although I wasn't overwhelmed by what I ate (goat cheese fondue and a croque monsieur sandwich), it was solidly good, especially for the price. Make 'em yourself 'Smores for dessert made people happy, although they provide insufficient marshmallows to make the whole thing work well. Still: I will come back.
