Superb Food – Loteria is fantastic. There are so many things to try... the mole is the best I have had, the albondigas are brilliant, the tamales are different than any I have seen. You will love this joint.
Mexican Haven – Loteria is the place for Mexican any time of day. The breakfast eggs and chilequiles are phenominal. The plantains are the best I've ever had. The tortilla soup is one to be reckoned with. Moreover, the tacos, enchiladas, and burritos are what Mexican food is supposed to be. If every Mexican joint were like this, we'd have no need for the grilled "whatever" plates California Mexican cuisine has become. A must for anyone craving flavor, value, and a true food experience.
Mexican Breakfast – Mexican breakfast made cool. I have not had a real Mexican breakfast before - not the ordinary chilaquiles you see all over town. These will knock your socks off! Try the chilaquiles verdes - or any of them for that matter. I am a weekend breakfast JUNKEE for this place. The eggs are out of this world. The chorizo eggs are fantastic. Order a breakfast burrito - WOW!
Loteria is a "MUST TRY!" – One of a few places in this city that you really must try. This place is on its way to becoming a Los Angeles institution. The best Mexican food I have ever had. Loteria has perfected the art of the taco!

The REAL Mexican – Loteria will make every Californian toss their tacos and burritos from Baja Fresh and La Salsa. This is the REAL Mexican cuisine. Fresh, stewed meats and vegetables, house made tortillas off the grill, and flavor that is intense! This is my new favorite and everyone should get a taste of what true Mexican cuisine can do for the senses. The tacos and burritos rock, the plantains are from heaven and if you're lucky, Jimmy, the owner, will give you a taste of the best tortilla soup you will ever find.
Tacos you will not believe! – Loteria has changed the way I will forever look at Mexican food. This gem of a restaurant, tucked in the center of the old farmer's markert, will keep you coming back again and again for possibly the world's most AMAZING tacos.
