Authentic! – This place rules the school!! Killer cheese enchilladas with mole. Sometimes I just gotta have some mole, and this place does it good!!! I dig the farmers market, not much on "ambience" cuz hey, it is the Farmer's Market, but a very cool and interesting place indeed. You order at the counter then try to find a spot to nosh. Loteria has kickin tacos as well, there are an array of flavors, on small soft corn tortillas. You can even have an assortment. The rice is minty. AND you can have Huevos Rancheros all day! bad experience – The restaurant is located in very bad smelling part of the Farmers Market. The food is very expansive, a Small taco with nothing but the meat, Chicken or beef no salsa to add on, is $2.55. By the time they shout your name to get your it is cold. You can get much better food at the central market in Los Angeles then this place. We are in Los Angeles we can get authentic Mexican in a million other places.
Best Mexican in LA – Great quality chicken/beef/pork with the best sauces in LA. The poblano potato tacos are reason enough to abandon the pale Mexican food at nearby El Cholo and El Coyote in favor of this farmer's market stand.
Not your typical Mexican food... – They do all the standard stuff beautifully, but the more exotic specialties, some vegetarian, are what make this one of the best taco joints in town. Plus, the you can score a great draft beer at the bar in the next stall.
A Must Try! – After reading all the reviews on Citysearch and LA Magazine, I had to try Loteria for myself. The hype was warranted, and this place will not disappoint the culinary connoissuer. I tried the burrito stuffed with pibil (roasted shredded pork) and lots of it. The meat was absolutely heavenly.........so tender and accompanied with the perfect amount of black beans and rice. I can't wait to go back, again!!!!
Fresh, authentic Mexican food boosts the Farmers Market to new gastronomic heights. – The Scene With a prime location in the middle of the Farmers Market and authentic Mexican fare, this bustling stand is fast becoming a neighborhood favorite. Friendly and festive, the counter is lined with colorful Mexican playing cards and surrounded by bright red and yellow stools. Helpful servers get the orders in and the food out at breakneck speed. The Food Tacos, burritos and enchiladas made with homemade tortillas, succulent meat fil... read more
Eclectic Flavors and Great Atmosphere – Sitting right in the middle of the Farmer's Market, "Loteria" provides a great place to sit and rest, while enjoying fantastic food. Best tacos I've ever had. While they're small- that just gives you more room to try a few different ones. The chicken mole and pumpkin/peanut ones are fantasitc; earthy, well-rounded flavors. The handmade tortillas are slightly thicker than ones I've had before, but their slightly chewey texture makes them really stand out. For a filling meal- go for two ... read more
Simply the best – Saturday night at Farmer's Market is fast becoming a ritual, and no matter what other food stall I try, Loteria is the best. As a vegetarian, I was scared at first there wouldn't be anything for me, but their mushroom tacos and the poblano/potato tacos are TO DIE FOR. And the minty rice is fantastic, and don't get me started on how good the fried plantains are. Seriously, this is the best Mex in LA!
good traditional mexican food – Very good "traditional" mexican food. It is the only place in west hollywood where you can find mexican food that is actually reminiscent of the food cooked in mexico, such as chilaquiles and mole. Although you can also find foods, such as burritos, that are more california style mexican food. The only thing bad was the service but perhaps it was because I was there in its opening week.
