Great food, chaotic service – the food here is authentic, slow cooked, all from scratch, and delicious. however, since they opened the staff can't seem to get organized...nobody seems to know who's supposed to take orders, bring food, take our money...it's really chaotic and sometimes you have to ask 5 times for your chips and salsa...and remind them what you ordered...but hopefully they'll work out the kinks because the food is great.
MOLE! YUUUUMMM! – their mole is on point. i frequently visit that spot when i am at the farmer's market. i recommend thier carne deshebrada (shredded beef), cheese enchilada with mole, and their huevos con chorizo. their portions are generous but not their drinks so keep that in mind. ambience is cool but i disagree of it being romantic. its a kick back chill place to hangout but it also maybe crowded. often times, it can be busy.
worth the parking hell.. – this place is so good. they have potato taquitos cant be good for you but are worth the few pounds just about everything is good on the menu the guacamole, tacos, burritos -- the tamales were a bit on the dry side without much stuffing inside one downfall for the food. the service is a bit lacking the ladies that work there seem confused a lot of the time but as long as i get my food..
Yum! – Perfect food on the go. Burrito is enough to feed a small army!
Aye, que barbaridad!!! – On Saturday, August 9, I invited a couple of old friends to the Loteria Grill for dinner. I assured them that although the ambience was "rustic", the quality of the food would be worth it. At about 7:20, after an unreasonably long wait in line, the cashier told us that they were out of about half the menu items, including the tortilla soup, the nopalito salad and many taco fillings. Expediting of order was unprofessional without checking to see if it was complete. Several times, we had to ask for the... read more
Great food! – The food is fantastic. One try makes you want to go back and sample most everything on the menu. Cannot wait to go again! Suggest getting tacos so you can try more menu items. The burros are huge.
Couldn't Live With Out Jimmy – Apparetly I had never had authentic Mexican food, although considered myself a huge fan of "mexican food" until I went to Loteria. We go at least if not more than 2-3 times a week. because of the frequency of my visits I have come to know Jimmy the owner, and he should be more than proud that he chose to follow his instinct. I recently spent a few days in Mexico- thinking I would have no problem satisfying my addiction to mole... I was in Mexico....and couldn't find anything thing that came clo... read more
Best taco stand in L.A. – Taco stands are easy to drive by. This taco stand is located inside of the Farmers Market/Grove and can only be walked up-to. And, once there, you've got to try everything on the short, inexpensive menu. Free two hour parking with validation.
Mole to die for!! – The BEST mole in all of Los Angeles, hands down. Everything on the menu is a must try. There are very few great Mexican Restaurants in this area of Los Angeles, and this one is certainly at the top of the already short list. Try the others if you must then come here to experience Mexican the way it really should be done.
