Best Mexican Food In Los Angeles, and by extension, The World – I feel like I need to be over the top and say this is the best Mexican food in the world to correct for the people that need to have their doctors raise their psych meds who said this place was awful. Bad taste in your mouth for hours? Pleasus. To say that is, without condition, insanity. Come to Reseda to have the best Mexican food? Come on. The Valley is good for one thing only: Dirty Movies. This place is so awesome that if you don't like it you have a charac... read more
I WILL NEVER GO TO ANOTHER MEXICAN SPOT AGAIN!! – TODAY ME AND MY HUSBAND WENT TO THE FARMER'S MARKET LOOKING FOR SOMETHING NEW TO TRY(WE USUALLY EAT AT THE SAME SPOTS) WE HAPPENED TO SEE A LONG LINE AT THE LOTERIA GRILL..SO WE DECIDED TO TRY SOMETHING NEW AND I AM SO GLAD WE DID!!I ORDERED THE POTATO TACO WITH BLACK BEANS AND THE GREEN RICE(WHITE RICE WITH MINT LEAVES) WATERMELON JUICE AND MY HUSBAND ORDERED THE CHICKEN NACHOS AND THE FRIED PLANTAINS WITH CREMA MEXICANA..ALL I CAN SAY IS MMMM MMMM GOOD!! I WILL NEVER GO TO ... read more
Amazing & Authentic Food, Poor Service. – When it comes to regional central-mexican food, you won't find much better than this. If your idea of great mexican food is Tito's Tacos, then this stuff might be more than your palate can handle... my wife and I have been visiting since it opened in 2002. Unfortunately (as you may read from past reviews), they still have no clue about service! There are signs suggesting you "skip the line" and have your order taken at the counter (much like a traditional taco stand). You'll end up w... read more
Worst Mexican Food ever – Oh my god, its so bad that we couldn't get the bad taste out of our mouth for hours. I don't think my dog would want to eat it neither. I don't understand how the News channel would give this restaurant such a good review. BTW, I ask for salsa and they charge me $3.25 for a tiny little cup.....WAY OVER RATED!!!
Absolutely awesome Mexican – OK, so maybe it feels a little pricey for the whole "outdoor dining" experience -- but man, this stuff is GOOD. The shredded beef may be the most delicious meat I've ever tasted in a Mexican restaurant of any kind. Not to mention the chicken en mole -- and I don't even LIKE mole. I would give this place 50 thumbs up.
EXCELLENT Mexican Food – I am also a native of Los Angeles, and can confidently say that Loteria is one of the most delicious Mexican restaurants in Los Angeles. Comparing this place to La Salsa is just ridiculous--the two are in totally different leagues. Situated in the Farmer's Market (which in itself, is a culinary treat!), Loteria serves up incredibly fresh, innovatively spiced dishes (so home made and heart warming) that are VERY reasonably priced! Try their incredible nachos or potato taquitos....for brunch their heuv... read more
a waste of time and money – as a 33 year old l.a. native i have had some of the best mexican food that can be had in the city. my wife and i noticed that this place had been very well reviewed and wanted to try it out. what a joke! the food is overpriced and the portions are small. as to the food, it was not anything special. its barely better than la salsa or other mexican mall food. for the quality and quantity...las fuentes (in reseda) rules the school...no question! get off your butt and drive to the valley to taste some... read more
It's about the Farmer's Market – As Mexican in LA goes, this place is nothing special. As value for your money in the Farmer's Market goes, this place is expensive. If, however, you must have Mexican while at the Farmer's Market, then this is the place for you. I think the charm of the Market (and the raucous bar atmosphere nearby) explain the enthusiasm of so many reviewers for this not-so-special restaurant. By all means, go to Fairfax and 3rd -- just make sure to look around at all the other options you have there... most... read more
Taco stand – Without naming names, there are far better taco stands in LA for half the price. Although none of them are at the Farmers Market.
