Stayed in one of the garden cottages. Location is lovely, gardens and the architecture of the hotel are very picturesque. Staff are friendly and helpful and food was delicious. Downsides: The garden cottage is in serious need of some cosmetic attention. Painted lining paper on the walls in the sitting room was coming away, radiator was also hanging lopsided and the TV required a degree in engineering to get it to work. We stayed here for one night and truly wished me hadn’t. We would’ve been much better off going to a cheaper property in town. This is NOT a luxury accommodation. The room wasn’t very clean, and although gigantic, was so empty it felt ominous and outdated. The updated bathroom was unclean and many details were overlooked. The carpet was filthy. Beautiful old country house, perhaps needs a little TLC, but the gorgeous scenery, delicious food and wonderful warm staff made for very the most delightful stay at this hotel Thank you
