My partner and I spent one night as a treat and were not disappointed. The newly refurbished hotel is superb with high quality finishes and attention to detail that made our stay extremely comfortable and enjoyable. The food was excellent and the warm, friendly and attentive staff made us feel very welcome. The rural location is very peaceful and the gardens are well attended. Would definitely return.
Such a beautiful place to stay. We stayed one night to see how it was after the recent renovation and to try out the dinner. We were not disappointed! The quality of the renovation is superb, both in the public areas and in our room. The outside works are not yet complete and are also extensive, but it looks as if this will be lovely by next summer. The dinner was also brilliant; original mix of flavours and some excellent pastry work. All in all it was a memorable stay.
So glad this hotel has reopened after 18 months shut. It has had an excellent refurbishment and is now even better than before - and it was always 5* in our opinion. It is a magnificent building and the room we had (room 6) was superb. The bathroom in particular was fabulous and very upmarket. We were on a Secret Escapes 2 night break which included one night's dinner. For this we had full choice from the a la carte menu which was superb but at £75 a head for 3 courses not cheap.
