one of the best – Like a reviewer below, I also am completely blown away by all of the bad reviews on here. *Especially* the ones claiming that the service is poor and the staff is rude. I could not disagree more. I live in the neighborhood, and I have probably been there dozens of times. Whenever I go, the servers watch my table like hawks and come over instantly every time a drink needs refilling, a plate is done, or we need more sauce. I also think the food is great. To be fair, though, I have never eaten anything with ch... read more
Very good! – I met up with some coworkers here and liked the decor. My chicken pho was tasty and the ingredients were fresh. The service was decent. I'd definitely come back. I was able to find metered parking out front right before noon on a weekday.
Rude watier, Vile food! – Let me start off by stating that I've never reviewed a restaurant until now. I want to spare diners who are thinking of eating at this establishment. It's sad when you used to frequent a place that you had fond memories of. Since I was last there, around 2 or 3 years ago they have expanded the room and re-decorated. I ordered the same meal that I had in the past. The difference being the chicken was all dark meat, which included several large pieces of fat that rested on what appeared a lot of greas... read more
Glad we have some Vietnamese options on the Westside – Food was good, not great, but I was just happy to get my Vietnamese fix without driving across town. My fav Vietnamese place is China Beach in Venice, but that's a little further and also very small. Le Saigon has a decent amount of tables so you shouldn't have to wait to be seated. A very casual atmosphere with a lot of young people. It's located on a block with a lot of other restaurants, so there's a nice lively feel (people walking on the sidewalks in LA!).
Strange Experience at this place... – So this was my third time having lunch at this place. I went with a couple of co-worker's (one that goes on an average of 2-3 times per week for the past 2 years) for the noodle soup. I have always had the noodle bowl with the pork and loved it, but decided to try the soup this time. Big mistake apparently. Both myself and one of my co-worker's ordered the soup with meatballs. Unfortunately is was not edible for either of us, (meatballs didn't resemble any meat I've ever seen) so we aske... read more
THE WORST SERVICE! – Very bad service!! The waiter was rude to us when we told him our dietary needs and asked if it were possible to get one of the appetizers steamed instead of fried. He said no because steaming the item made it a different dish. I then looked on the menu to discover they had a steamed vs. fried option, and tried to see if we could substitute it for say an additional price. But he just kept saying I dont know how to say it differently, these are different dishes, and treated me like I was an idiot for not ... read more
Nice twist on Vietnamese food – Nice place, used to be better when they were smaller, but still is good. Not really what you can call authentic Vietnamese food but I like this better than the authentic places. Not too much variety, after a few visits you have tasted it all, still worth a try.
Mediocre at best – Le Saigon is not great Vietnamese food. I found it quite bland, the sauces for the egg rolls and my vermicelli bowl were literally watered down. My egg rolls were as hard as rocks, like they had been in the fryer more than once. The meat in the Pho was SO hard to chew up. I truly love great Vietnamese food, and crave a great, inexpensive vermicelli bowl with pork and fried rolls. This left me feeling undersatisfied and craving another meal altogether. I would not recommend this place, as there are truly, m... read more
If you don't like it!! Question your taste buds!! – I'm not expert on Vietnamese cuisine, nor do I pretend to be. What I do know it that le saigon's food is simply delicious no matter which way you look at it. So if you like pho or have never had it and want to add something different to your routine, check out le saigon. Try the pho with rare meat because as i have learned the hot broth overcooks the meat. Oh and don't forget money because Le Saigon is CASH ONLY.
Le Saigon has a 4.2 star rating with 161 reviews.
Le Saigon is open now. It will close at 6:00 p.m.
