The Hotel itself exceeded my expectations in terms of cleanliness and presentation. Normally when I stay away from home, at accommodations, it’s not always 100% clean and well presented, but Lakeside was spotless, very well maintained and the Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Check in was very quick and easy, along with accessing the Spa. The Room was huge, beds comfy and plenty provided for your stay. I facilitated a 2 day strategy workshop this week at the Lakeside, using their Oyster conference room. The room itself was nice, plenty of light and great views. It was setup for 14 people in a conference style (large table running up the middle of the room) with projector and screen one end and a flip chart. The room was comfortable, with tea and coffee available throughout the day from start to finish. I booked this hotel primarily for the spa facilities. Sadly I was quite disappointed. The thermal pool outside wasn't working for 3 days out of my 4 day stay, similar with the hot tub. The 2 outdoor saunas were cold for my entire stay. When I enquired about the facilities not working I was told daily "An engineer is coming they will be working later". We came for a spa experience and afternoon tea. They have wonderful staff, lovely facilities and excellent food prepared on-site! We look forward to returning.
