Great experience as first time home buyers working with Kyle Leemon! Kyle did an amazing job from meeting with his clients in person to understand their needs and educate them about the entire mortgage experience. He has great communication skills and kept us up to date about the steps and process for our loan. Because I've had my personal & business accounts with LMCU for around 12 years it truly pains me to say this but I've been trying to get them to submit PPP loan paperwork this week & the customer service at the corporate level has been atrocious to say the least. The lack of guidance & communication has been a real eye opener. On the positive side interactions with their tellers & branch staff has been very good over the years.
My truck payment is through Lake Michigan Credit Union and the loan payment is in my fathers name. I have never seen a place that it takes so much work to make a payment. I have been added to the account that they can talk to me. I called last month and they said the rules have changed unless your name is on the account you cant make the payment I have been making payments for over 2 years. she still took it. Friendly staff, when we went to get a mortgage we choose LMCU. I have been with this credit union since 1977.

When they charge an overdraft fee WITH money in the account simply because they moved one item in front of two others then charge all three at once thus three overdrafts! It is ridiculous that a “credit union” is so overdraft crazy plus can’t/won’t make it so any needed funds can be pulled from the savings account!
