These people are frauds. They intentionally misrepresent their policies to generate late fees and fraudulently report to the credit bureaus.

If you guys can’t handle the business then stop taking additional clients and loan applications and focus on the ones you have!!! This credit union is about to cost me a property for their lack of communication and ability to close for reasons that I am not at fault of. They just lost business from me On doing my construction loan. Very unprofessional and I will be taking legal actions if I lose this property.

RecommendedI absolutely love Lake Michigan credit union. They have always quick to catch fraud taking place with my debit or credit cards. Then just this month I asked if I could skip a car loan payment. I told them I have a girlfriend that moved to the keys of Florida 4 or 5 years ago and that I haven't made it down there yet, that I have enough money to get a round trip flight but think I ought to have a little spending cash. Horrible from day one. Do yourself a favor and find another company. Nothing but blame passing and excuses from these people. First time home buying was the most stressful experience ever thanks to LMCU and their horrendous communication skills. If it tells you anything about their company my Loan Officer informed us she had just turned her resignation in the day we closed... STAY AWAY!
The Holland Michigan branch is awesome!! very helpful and honest!! no issues here and what i love is that they keep politics out of the bank!!
Terrible customer service. Visited the metro hospital location today. Sat in the drive thru for 15 minutes before the person in front of me was helped. You could see through the window that only one person was working the drive thru and walk up counter. Every time I visit any of their locations it’s nothing but a hassle. For being such a large credit union you would think they would have things better figured out.
Institution is not very good to employees, nor does it appear to support social justice movements.
LMCU is not sympathetic with the Black Lives Matter movement, and upholds white silence within our society. LMCUs attempts to change this narrative are performative if not entirely non-existent.
The absolute worst experience trying to get a mortgage through them. DO NOT RECCOMEND!! They do not communicate. We were supposed to close on a house at 9am and at 530p the night before they said they couldn't do it and they need more time. This is the second time we had a closing scheduled. Never again would I work with them.
