Where to start? First of all the location is fabulous, a 15-20 minute walk from the village, which has a community shop, cafe, pub and restaurant (all locally run and outstanding quality). The cottage has mountain and woodland views. We rented the whole house as self-catering. It is so beautiful, huge windows, very warm and cosy in October/November, a lovely and comfortable space to spend time in. Well equipped kitchen and comfy sofas. We booked the whole cottage but on arrival we realised it wasn't the whole cottage as one of the bedrooms was locked so we didn't get the option to choose which bedrooms we preferred. Also, we only found out after we had paid in full that the restaurant was closed for the duration of our visit. Very disappointed as the food/restaurant was one of the main reasons we booked River Cottage. The other restaurant in Inverie only had a very limited menu and is a two mile walk there and back. House/location is lovely though.
