Was awful, we were charged service over 6 times during one meal. Would not remove the charge, the dinner was absolutely tiny for a £27 plate of food. Rooms were so dated, mould around the window and shower hardly working.
Yes it is hard to reach but it is so worth it. Friendly staff coupled with a romantic location and a cozy building is just a perfect combination for an unforgettable experience. Try to avoid the bus when driving and the only restaurant is the hotel restaurant which is a little pricey with delicious food. Especially the red cabbage was excellent.

I'm not a fancy guy. I am primarily a 'cheapest possible option' kind of holidaymaker. I've never booked a suite before so booking to stay in the Library Suite was a spur-of-the-moment decision to inject a bit of luxury to our trip up north. The room didn't disappoint.
