Worst service in town – stay away from the place if you are Indian and expect to pay more for catering based on what you do for a living.
Business response:
We appreciate you taking the time to submit a review of our restaurant. Our customer feedback is very important to us. We are sorry to hear that you feel our Indian guests will find us to be expensive. All of our catering is created and priced individually, based on what our guest is looking for. We sincerely hope you will contact us again with your catering needs. It would be our pleasure to put together a menu according to your budget.
overpriced and not even good!! – We sat down for a good 10-15 minutes before a waiter ever came by to even greet us, and then when he finally arrived he had the nerve to ask us if we "were ready for the menus yet?"!! I use to frequent this restaurant before it was Kiran's, in the old days of Bombay Palace.....what a difference it is now.....food was not even authentic tasting....i stuck to something i considered a "safe" dish...the chicken biryani....which at most places u can't go wrong with....but here u certainly can........ read more

We are so sorry to hear of your disappointing experience. While there is no excuse for a server to take this much time in attending to your table, perhaps it was a night on which we were exceptionally busy.Regardless, we continue to reiterate to our servers how important it is to tend to tables in a timely manner. We are sorry to hear about your diappointment in the cuisine.Biryani is one of our most popular dishes. We hope you will give us another chance to try it again.A basket of naan is $3.This basket includes one naan slic... read more
Food, service, and ambience taken to new Horizons – Kiran is a distinctive restaurant that sets the standard in the fine dining and service not only in Houston but in America. Dining here is always an unforgettable experience for all of my friends and guests. The chef offers exceptional creative cuisine while incorporating the freshest ingredients indigenous to this area. The professional and friendly staff is recognized for their extended knowledge of food and wine and impeccable gracious service. The elegant setting and fi... read more
Nice Price Fixe Lunch Menu – My friend and I had a lovely lunch here one weekday afternoon. Service was pleasany and informative. The price fixe menu was an excellent value and the choices were wonderful. I had the Halibut in a Watermelon Curry. Out of this world.
GREAT PLACE! – I have never been to a "nice" indian restaurant with this type of ambiance anywhere in houston. I love this place. I tried an appetizer, the main course, and a dessert there. Not too mention, I've also tried their drinks. The bartender is sooo nice and has a lot of knowledge on mixing drinks. If you dont like it, he is very nice about getting you another drink. The only down side to this place is the price you have to pay. But I think its worth it if you're looking for a nice night out, maybe once a month. The... read more
Unbelievably bad customer service – This is my first review I ever wrote for a restaurant, but my experience at lunch today was so unbelievably bad I feel so compelled. The food there was satisfactory (though I agree not worth the arm and leg you have to pay for it!). But our waiter was literally hovering over our table and rude. Thinking that it was only us and 2 other tables of patrons to serve, we didn't think they would be in such a rush to kick us out, but apparently they were. When we got our appetizers, the waiter kep... read more
Luxe Afternoon Tea! – Passing through Houston en route to a holiday, we booked a 5 pm afternoon high tea; we try to book tea any time we travel. We've had a lot of teas, but none has ever come close to the fabulous tea we had at Kiran's! They do an innovative Indian twist on the British classic, and from the samosas and wraps to the cucumber sandwiches and home baked scones, it was all fresh, delicious and delectable. Especially impressive is that this tea includes teas paired to each course, all hand blended in house. The s... read more
Kiran's just lost it! – My friend and I have had a business lunch at Kiran's at least once a month. We used to love their special vegetarian menu, consisting of many different, fantastic tasting samplers. On our most recent business lunch outing today we ordered our usual favorite and we were presented with a bowl of cauliflower/potatoes and a bowl of lentil sauce. Period. Looking at our long faces the waiter explained that the owner had changed our favored vegetarian lunch to this pathetic presentation, charging $17 per per... read more
Great place for a dinner date! – We've been in Houston for just about 2 years now, and have been to Kiran's twice in that time. The first was an uncomfortable experience at a weekend lunch buffet. We're vegetarian and didn't want to opt for the buffet and would have been happy ordering a la carte, but were forced by the enthusiastic chef herself to try it. Being polite people, we couldn't refuse and were disappointed enough to stay away from there for a whole year. But then a couple of weeks ago we went there for dinner and ... read more
