Innovative Indian, French and American cuisine served in an upscale but unpretentious setting. – In Short Chef Kiran Verma brings her skills to a new restaurant with a unique flair all her own. She moves beyond her training in preparing authentic Mughlai dishes of Northern India to create contemporary and ethnic dishes that fuse American and French cuisine, resulting in an exciting menu that is both adventurous and delicious. The dining room features deep red paneling, fine linens and upholstered chairs, giving it an upscale... read more

Unique spin on classic Indian food – I had the pleasure for eating at Karin's today and I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. I had the best service in town and was treated with respect. I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Karin and having her recommend some dishes for me, granted they were not traditional Indian fare, but never the less I was quite surprised with what I got. I will be going back and I will pay the price for the outstanding food and exceptional service. Beware the spin the chef puts on the dishes is addic... read more

Horrible customer service, avoid their chicken tikka masala – Both the times we visited this restaurant we were made to wait atleast 20 mins before anybody waited on us. The food was below average their Tandoori Chicken was not even cooked well. Most dishes were overpriced for the quality of the food. Choice of wine limited..The service was lazy and our orders were mixed up.. We will never go back.

Business response:

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at Kiran's. We are sorry that you were made to wait this long before anyone came to the table. While there is no excuse for this delay, sometimes our servers get backed up on weekends or if we are short of staff on a particular night. We cook all of our food at the proper temperature. We are sorry you found us to be overpriced, but the majority of our guests feel we are reasonable (as can be noted by all of our repeat guests). Dishes are priced based on quality of ... read more

Pricey, non-traditional Indian, geared towards the wine and dine crowd, not ethnic food lovers – Kiran's is a disappointment for those who loved the old Bombay Palace (as other reviews have also noted). When Kiran's had a buffet on Sundays, it was very expensive but creative and actually quite delicious. We couldn't afford to eat there nearly as often as we did at Bombay Palace, but my wife and I agreed Kiran's was a place to eat at on special occasions once or twice a year. But then they took away the buffet! They said it w... read more

Business response:

Thank you taking the time to write about Kiran's. We had a buffet on Sundays, which offered a wide selection of fresh vegetables, chicken, lamb, seafood, salads, and desserts. At $25, we thought our buffet was reasonably priced. We stopped having a Sunday buffet because it was not consistently busy on Sundays. When it's not busy, the buffet pans are not changed quickly, and the food put out at 11 am is the same food someone eats at 1 pm. Chef Kiran will only serve fresh food, so she decided not to do the buffet. We also had ... read more

not good at service – one of the worst restaurant I have seen in Houson. They don't have anything to provide in starters except tomoto pieces with cheese. They provided main course lamb curry first and after 10-15 minutes serves the NANs.. don't you think it is disgusting for a guest after paying a huge price ??

Business response:

Thank you taking the time to write about Kiran's. We have absolutely no idea what you are trying to say here.

Best Indian Food Ever! – Chef Kiran Verma's dedication and passion to her craft was evident in the taste and details of every dish I ate. Try this - simply go in, ignore the menu, and tell them to feed you. From the flaky sea bass to the lamb Vindaloo to the tandoori lamb, there was nothing but pure culinary delight. We were so delighted that we requested Chef Kiran to come out and let us share our joy at finding this gem of an Indian restaurant among a sea of ethnic restaurants in Houston. Good for a romantic date or a busi... read more

Lousy Service – The service is very lousy. We went there with one other couple and the food was served 15 mins before the bread could show up. When asked from the server, he actually left our cold food on the table and got us two dishes which we didn't even want to eat. We asked for the manager and he was highly irresonsive as well. The restaurant pretends to have a bid name but it is actually a 'big shame'. I am definitely never going there again especially since they ruined the day when we found out that my wife was pregna... read more

Business response:

Thank you for taking the time to write to us. We remember the evening you dined with us, and we sincerely apologize for what happened. The owner had just left for the evening that night when you came in, which is why you may have found management to be unresponsive. We have regular meetings with our servers and kitchen staff, and we made sure we brought your incident to everyone's attention. That evening, there was miscommunication between the servers and kitchen, and we are sorry you had to deal with that. We understand you... read more

Good food , mediocre service – This is my first time posting. Both my friend and I are recent transplants (and rampant foodies) from CA and NYC and had heard of Kiran's being one of the best contemporary Indian restaurants in Houston. The hostess was very polite and accomodating and we decided to try the pre fixe lunch on a weekday- while the entrees were very good (Chicken Tikka Masala/ Curry Sea Bass) especially the Sea bass, the salad was wilted and looked unappetizing. For the price I expected the food to be plated bette... read more

Business response:

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at Kiran's. We apologize for the poor service you experienced. We are constantly on the floor, training our waitstaff, servers, bussers, food runners, etc. To us, service is as important as food, and we work to make sure both are at par to create an inviting and warm ambiance. We sincerely hope you will give us another chance and dine with us again. We hope you will find service to be much improved and to your standards.

Great Indian FUSION Fine Dining – Don't pay any attention to the Bombay Palace whiners. If you want everyday, run-of-the-mill buffet food, I'm sure this place is not for you. If you want a $3.99 lunch special, then this place is REALLY not for you. If you want the best of Northern Indian cuisine with western European/American accents then this is THE place to go. This is fine dining and you can expect to pay for it. Kiran's does Indian cuisine like Cafe Le Jadeite does Chinese. Very impressive. In response to one of the comp... read more
