The whole team at Kingston couldn’t have been more helpful in planning our recent wedding. From start to finish, they took us through every detail and removed all the stress from planning. We were a small group that stayed for 5 nights. We had two rooms, a basic room with a ‘shower room’ and a deluxe room with a full bathroom. Highly recommend upgrading to the deluxe room! It was super nice and also came with a mini fridge and electric fireplace. Both rooms were sparkling clean and in excellent condition but we did not like the ‘shower room’ in the basic room as water gets on the floor and the drain had a musty smell (Management, please check the bathroom smell: Forge - room #4). When booking a hotel room you don't often get separate spacious sitting room, bedroom and bathroom on two levels. But that is what we received on arrival. This is an exceptional hotel in a most attractive location. However, there are minor downsides which did take the edge off our stay. In the Carpenter Rooms (and I suspect the majority of rooms) the bathroom is situated on the ground floor. We stayed here for one night at the last minute and it was fabulous. The room was spacious and clean and the huge bed extremely comfortable. We had our little dog with us and the pretty gardens were perfect to walk him around in the morning watching the sunrise. We didn't have dinner here as we had eaten a late lunch in Swanage but we wish we had when we saw the perfect Sunday roast dinners coming out of the kitchen.
