We stayed at the Lodge on the Tweed for a week in October and it was a truly wonderful place to explore the beautiful borders from. The house is warm and welcoming with lovely comfortable beds and cosy sofas. Loads of really thoughtful touches like a coffee machine, good quality towels, bedding and a smart TV so we could relax after busy days out cycling the trails of nearby Glentress. Sleeps 4 with ease. Having spent some time at Morag and Andrew's other properties we knew everything would be spot on, it was better than that. The Lodge, a little tricky at first to find it but what a gem of a place. It couldn't be closer to town and be far enough away at the same time. Peaceful and quiet and secluded away from everything but the town centre is only 400yds, perfect. We really enjoyed our week at Kencairn. Received a welcome e-mail from Morag, the owner, before arrival with all the info we needed, and Anjie, who looks after the house, was on-hand for any queries while we were there. The house is clean, comfortable and feels like a lovely home. Beds were really comfortable (and we tend to be picky!) and the kitchen was well-equipped - we didn’t find anything missing - it felt like the owners had really thought about what you need to be able to cook your own meals easily. Recently had a long weekend break at Kencairn Lodge, wow! what can i say. A lovely charming cottage with wonderful period features whilst at the same time having all the mod cons for a lovely relaxing break. Fantastic location in the heart of Peebles. Out of the back gate and two minutes walk to the lovely high street which hosts an array of independent stores, great eateries, coffee shops and pubs.
