I found Joseph Kappil to be very unprofessional and definitely afflicted with the doctor god complex. Others in these reviews (some but not all) seem to have been happy with him but in my experience, if you ask questions and want explanations, he becomes very impatient. He actually walked out on me! I found another surgeon who was very happy to answer all my questions and has since performed a successful cataract surgery for me. Don’t settle, you deserve to be treated with respect!
Other than wait time from first appointment to surgery date for cataract removal. Very satisfied with Dr. Kappil and his Team.

Dr. Kappil recently performed cataract surgery on my right eye. He went above and beyond to make sure I understood everything. This was my first surgery and Dr. Kappil took a lot of time to explain everything to me to help ease my mind on this surgery.
Similar to other reviews I have read (which I wish I had read before my visit), I found Dr. Kappil to be unprofessional and uncaring. After waiting almost a month to get an appointment with him for an irritating eye problem and waiting 35 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, he refused to treat me after I asked a number of questions and referred me out. Now I have to wait for another month to see another doctor for an uncomfortortable eye issue. So much for the doctors' oath Do No Harm.

My surgery went well I will recommend him
Dr Kappil just performed cataract on my left eye. Could not be happier with his professionalism and obvious expertise. I no longer require glasses, although I’ve been told that this isn’t always the case. Office personnel is always helpful and courteous.
Dr. Kappil should be your go to ophthalmology MD IMHO; he has done both of my eyes & I am pain-free after both procedures.
