My experience with Dr. Kappil was excellent. He was very thorough with his explanations of all aspects of the cataract surgery, and answered all my questions very clearly. I was treated with respect at all times. Everything about my cataract surgeries (both eyes - one week apart) at Centegra McHenry went smoothly. Each and every staff member was friendly, courteous, respectful, and, of course, helpful.
Dr. Kappil left me high and dry 11 days before my scheduled Cataract surgery. The day of the lens measurement he recommended a stardard lens and I told him I would pay for an Astigmatism lens. He seemed agitated by this. I paid for the lens out of my pocket and left. Got my pre op eval that afternoon. On my way home I got a call from his office and they told me that he would not do my surgery. Now they say it will take 6-8 weeks for a refund and will not take my calls. Very unprofessional.
Dr Kappil doesn't like patients to ask a lot of questions, won''t talk to you on the phone. Had to make an appointment, sat in his waiting room for 45 min., was talked to rudely by his staff when I asked if it would be much longer. Dr. Kappil canceled my cataract surgery 3 days prior, gave me no explanation. He said he thought it would be better if I went to a different surgeon. I found out he has done this to other patients. He has no compassion, is rude, & doesn't care about his patients.
I had a very positive experience with the procedure Dr. Kappil provided with the cataract surgery done by Dr. Kappil.
I was trying to schedule an appointment, after having to repeat myself a few times the receptionist called me ma'am. I am a man.
Dr Kappil performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. On the first eye, no pain or scratching during pr after the surgery. For the second eye, sratchyness for the first week after surgery. Artificial tears eased the week of discomfort. Best surgery I have ever had, went from not seeing to seeing within the day of surgery, with very little issues.
Dr Kappil maybe a Good surgeon,but he absolutely lacks bedside manner He is short and curt and does not like answering your questions He said in a curt way you can come back for another visit if you have questions Would not recommend if you need patience and answers Unprofessional
Dr. Kappil is a great doctor. Very professional and explains everything well.
Takes a bit to get in here to get things done but that is because he does such a good job and has a lot of patients coming. Does excellent work, VERY happy with the results.
