I've been eating at John's for over 40 years. It is the best beef stew I have ever had. I still meet friends there once a month and always order the stew.

That stew will light you up like Times Square on New Year's Eve, but man is it good! Clears clogged sinuses and low-blows creeping crud, too....a true Indianapolis institution!
Got the goulash stew and it was amazing! Very flavorful! Would definitely recommend trying!
The food is really good here the one disadvantage is you can't bring kids. Because the owner doesn't want to do it needs to be to allow that the place is really cool inside and the waitresses are really fun to. If you want stew this is the place to go and when they say hot as in spicy hot it definitely is hot. A real fun experience
