RecommendedExcellent food! Big bang for your buck!
My wife and I made our first visit here for lunch today. The food and service were terrific. We hope to become regulars! John’s Famous Stew came highly recommended. I’m glad we checked the place out. My only suggestion to the establishment is that they should provide a family dining area.
DELICIOUS! I think we had always missed visiting because of the short hours so today was a first visit for my husband and I. Our son, who met us for lunch, had been here before and always encouraged us to go. Today was a perfect cold-weather day to go but any weather day would be a perfect time to go! Between the three of us we had the moz sticks, chilli and grilled cheese, beef stew and peach and blackberry cobblers! All SO very good and Ms. Betty took good care of us! We look forward to returning . . . and often! 😉👍🏻
Best stew I’ve ever had, way better than gramma’s
First time eating here. Husband swears its good. Through his recomendation I ordered a "Johns Hearty Stew." It is a tomato based stew. lots of onions, a few carrots and a slice of potato. I was jealous, my husband had the spicy pit stew and there was so much meat. I asked the waitress if there was a way to get meat in my stew. She informed me all the stews have meat but can be asked for without. I would have liked some.. but disappointed.
Great Food, Atmosphere & friendly people !
The crown jewel of the menu is the name itself. The goulash is great, the grilled pork loin sandwich is flavorful and delicious......but NOTHING is better than the stew, be it regular or spicy. If you don't like it, best get to a doctor and have your head examined!
John's stew and the chili are excellent!
I do miss this place...very much.
