Opened in the summer of 2006 to replace the aging University Hall, the University of Virginia now holds its basketball games, concerts and other events in this 16,000 seat arena. Built almost entirely from a private donation, it takes its name from a former alumni, and not the Revolutionary War naval hero. It shouldn't be hard for fans to find, since it's right across the street from the old facility.

My husband and I saw Fall Out Boy last march here and then last night a friend and myself saw Def Leppard, Posion and Tesla. Always have a blast, only can complain about the parking issue for last nite and the cops sent us to a street that didn't even have parking. Found it on our own and then the person in front of us keep standing up so my friend was having to duck around to see some. I know everyone is paying for their seat but just rude to block someone else who has paid to see the same thing.
Pros: Comfy seats, sound/acoustics are good. Staff was friendly Cons: Paying for parking, I haven't paid for parking at venue in years and I go to A LOT of shows. Parking, didn't have a traffic cop directing until too late. Seat upgrades-not available. You have to buy a whole new ticket. Every other venue upgrades you for a fee or price difference.
Tesla, Poison & Def Leppard were all amazing. The staff was nice and accommodating. I have never gotten into or out of a venue, parking or into the building, as easily & quickly as we did last night. I would go to another show here...even though it's a 5 hour drive from my home. :)
Sound was great, staff helpful, beer prices not bad. Def Leppard, Poison, Tesla were awesome!
Awesome concert venue! I have seen a variety of shows there, from Van Halen to Dave Matthews. By far my favorite venue!
Went to see def leppard , tesla and poison last night and had a wonderful time no complaints !
