John Paul Jones Arena

4.5

About this business

Opened in the summer of 2006 to replace the aging University Hall, the University of Virginia now holds its basketball games, concerts and other events in this 16,000 seat arena. Built almost entirely from a private donation, it takes its name from a former alumni, and not the Revolutionary War naval hero. It shouldn't be hard for fans to find, since it's right across the street from the old facility.

First time visit to the venue. Usually see Def Leppard in VA Beach. The show was incredible! Loved every minute. The parking however was the worst I've EVER encountered. Not sure where the $20 parking was but would have definitely paid if it was any closer or easier to get in to or out if than the parking deck. After the show waited an entire hour and cars did not move one inch. Would go back but definitely find other parking arrangements.

We went to see Tesla Poison and Def Leppard parking was easy, however 20 dollars to park is a little much, but besides that the show was great and the staff was very helpful with finding our seats.

She was trying to hide it when people started looking around because of the smell but it was obvious. I thought smoking was prohibited in... read more
