Opened in the summer of 2006 to replace the aging University Hall, the University of Virginia now holds its basketball games, concerts and other events in this 16,000 seat arena. Built almost entirely from a private donation, it takes its name from a former alumni, and not the Revolutionary War naval hero. It shouldn't be hard for fans to find, since it's right across the street from the old facility.

Upper level is extremely cramped and STEEP, no leg room, and ppl have to climb over each other to get in/out. Show was awesome though (Def Leppard, Poison, Tesla), and staff were helpful and friendly. We stayed at Cavalier Inn and walked over so no hassle with traffic. Would Def do lower level if we go again.
Not a bad seat in the house . Bathrooms are very very clean.
We were in the upper level for the Def Leppard, Poison and Tesla concert on May 5. We had good seats (row B directly in front of the stage) and really enjoyed the concert. But, the leg room was very limited when seated. By the end of the night, my knees were hurting a bit from being so cramped. Also, the parking was horrible. We arrived about 15 minutes after public parking opened and got routed up past the arena, around the corner and around another corner. We had to park about a mile away. Enjoyed the Def Leppard, Poison , Tesla concert on the 5th of May. Venue was very clean and nice. Parking was atrocious. No one really directing the cash parking patrons and the police were just running the traffic around in circles. Not much guidance as to where was available to park. Finally found it on my own and lesson learned. No thanks to traffic attendants.
Parking is a challenge. Get the prepaid parking.
The Def Leopard, Poison and Tesla concert was awesome. The employee's at the arena done a great job getting us in and out with ease. Thanks
A better parking plan needs to be inplaced. Spent an hour trying to park in garage.
