Opened in the summer of 2006 to replace the aging University Hall, the University of Virginia now holds its basketball games, concerts and other events in this 16,000 seat arena. Built almost entirely from a private donation, it takes its name from a former alumni, and not the Revolutionary War naval hero. It shouldn't be hard for fans to find, since it's right across the street from the old facility.

4 drink max sucks. If I’m old enough to drink I am old enough to know how many drinks I should be able to purchase. Lines are way too long for vending. Will not return. Will not recommend.

It's rare that I have to sit in such a small seat in a somewhat modern venue. Absolutely no leg room, and the rows in some areas are 40 seats long, making the middle seats miserable.
BEST COLLEGE BASKETBALL ARENA!!! GO HOOS!!!
Its College Basketball. What's not to Love?!!
great venue. not as bad view anywhere!
This place is a joke and it’s security management is terrible ! I had a small clutch that was half an inch bigger than “the allowed size “ and they wouldn’t let me in ! There was no notification on this policy. There was something on the website, but why would I look for something like that!? I’ve been to hundreds of concerts and have never been turned away because my tiny clutch was too big . Ridiculous!!
I have attended multiple concerts in the past 2 years and I have had only one issue in the 2 years, and that was with a parking attendant being rude because I had parked my truck where another attendant had told me to park and made me move it.. Parking is limited for those that drive lifted trucks, the parking garage is too low and most parking spaces are not wide enough. That's the only issue I have ever had. I hear so many complain about the purse policy.. If people would read the fine print on the JPJ website where they d... read more
