Soup for the soul!!!! Great service and sitting at the bar getting to watch the magic happen is perfect! Will come again many many times for sure. Caesar salad and the bread!!!!!!
I eat here pretty often. There is really nothing on the menu that I would not recommend. The Magnolia Sauce on any item is great! They are famous for their grilled oyster dishes, they have traditional Oysters Rockefeller but also a lot of their own specialties. It gets crowded at lunch so come early ( by 11 AM ) . Prices are reasonable my favorite dish is Catfish Combo ( with Magnolia Sauce ) and fried shrimp. Their bread is great too! I highly recommend this place.
YUM!! Their garlic bread was really good and fresh. I had the stuffed shrimp which were huge and full of crab meat. My husband had the regular fried shrimp and there were a lot!! he had a side of the jambalaya and said it was delicious. We would very likely be a regular if we lived in Texas.
A good lunch place and full of a lot of business people. Great creole cooking. Lots of shrimp and crawfish choices on the menu. The gumbo was spectacular.
If you want the absolute best grilled oysters in Houston, this is the place to go...period. Every time I come back I wonder why I don't come more often.

I was back in town last week and met up with a buddy. The raw oysters were OK (to be fair raw oysters are not my thing), the grilled oysters were out of this world (they are always excellent), the boiled crayfish were very good, and the redfish with Pontchartrain sauce was excellent.
Excellent service and food. Try to go here every time I am in Houston. If you like Cajun / Seafood this is the place to go.
This place is very authentic and great fresh taste. Shrimp creole is great, oysters on the half shell are delicious, the catfish fillets are plentiful, and the sampler is more than what you ask for. Serving sizes are huge, price is reasonable. I would highly recommend this place.
Stumbled on this gem because we were staing at the Hyatt across the parking lot, and because the Epicurean gods were smiling on us. We love Cajun food, and trust me, Jimmy G's is a prime example of why. The place had a cool oyster bar, but we wanted dinner, so were seated elsewhere. My husband wisely chose the featured dinner: blackened red snapper with Magnolia sauce. This tasty treat was served with creamy and delicious mashed potatoes and fresh greenbeans. I had an amazing Shrimp Creole, which is seriously to die for, and... read more
