This is a very good restaurant. Good seafood and the portions were more than I could eat. Great appetizers and main course. It's hard to say enough as we were all very pleased with the food all fresh and well prepared. If there could be any improvements it would be with the beer selection, more craft beer would be nice.
The grill oyster was awesome.
Always a good spot for lunch or if your coming in from the airport a little later and want to avoid traffic going home! Their portions are large, the fish is always fresh and we loved everything fried!! The staff is friendly but I will say the inside could use a little spruce up! But the food is always good and nothing super fancy! And ALWAY say yes to their garlic bread!! It's delicious.
If you're into Cajun and especially Crawfish I highly recommend Jimmy G's. It's definitely not a fancy place and it definitely is on the expensive side. It's also out near the airport. But the food is great! Nice selection of Louisiana beers too! Highly recommend the fried oysters appetizer and the Crawfish touffée. Plenty of other seafood choices on the menu.
Jimmy G's is just across the parking lot from the Hyatt Place/Bush Airport and is worth the short walk for dinner. Cajun seafood is their specialty and they tout their grilled oysters as a must-try. The service was friendly, if not spot-on. Give Jimmy G's a try, if only for the grilled oysters.
Went here for lunch and had the calamari appetizer and the seafood gumbo. Very good. The margaritas were especially good.
Grilled oysters live up to their reputation! They are the perfect balance between rich and savory. I especially like the ability to pair the food with a native New Orleans beer.
Whenever I'm traveling to Houston I stay at Hyatt next door Very casual and friendly Sit at the bar as you get to watch the cooling oysters and shrimp Full liquor bar.... And beer Specialize in oysters on the grill, shrimp any kind and typical Cajun food of all kinds Great, friendly service!
I am staying at a hotel in the area for a licensing examination and am without a car. It was suggested that I try this place since it is within walking distance of my hotel. As a side note, I came here at 2:45 in the afternoon, so the place was fairly quiet. I didn't see any issue with the cleanliness or atmosphere that would suggest a reason for this other than the odd time of day to eat lunch. I ordered a bowl the seafood gumbo and a fried calamari salad. The gumbo was more "broth" than I am accustomed to, but I still thou... read more
