One of many offshoots of the original Ivar's Acres of Clams, the Salmon House represents the Seattle institution's attempt at contemporary dining. Located in a replica Indian longhouse, the restaurant features salmon and meats alder-smoked on the open-pit Indian-style barbecue. The chef does best with straightforward seafood preparations. This place is a regular spot to eat in Seattle: outstanding seafood, beautiful northwest coast First Nations art, lovely views of Lake Union.
When spring hits but I'm still feeling a little under the weather, Ivar's outdoor walk-up seafood bar fixes me up with an order of Salmon and Chips. Thanks for still being there Ivar's!
This was the second mediocre experience at Ivar's in 12 months, the food was OK, the service was really slow, the bathrooms were disgusting, and they had run out of the on tap hard cider when it was only 6:30pm. I used to love this place but not really so much anymore.
Ivar's was so accommodating to our Sammamish class of '69!

We celebrated Mother's Day at the Salmon House. It was wonderful from the appetizer to the desserts. Good food, good service, good family time.
