One of many offshoots of the original Ivar's Acres of Clams, the Salmon House represents the Seattle institution's attempt at contemporary dining. Located in a replica Indian longhouse, the restaurant features salmon and meats alder-smoked on the open-pit Indian-style barbecue. The chef does best with straightforward seafood preparations. We always have Hoppy hour and last night was no exception! Husband enjoyed sauteed clams...FOR $5 BUCKS, plus a Ceasar salad! I enjoyed salmon cake sliders and the knife and fork iceberg lettuce salad. We shared a bowl of the Ivars WORLD FAMOUS clam chowder. His mom enjoyed the Crab Mac and Cheese. Malbec wine for me, and Mom enjoyed a cocktail that could have easily been dessert...though DESSERT was Pineapple Bread Pudding. FABULOUS. Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and excellent service~Our 1st time eating there.
as always Ivar's is our favorite - great staff and food. BUTTTTT you do need to put fresh oysters on the menu.
