One of many offshoots of the original Ivar's Acres of Clams, the Salmon House represents the Seattle institution's attempt at contemporary dining. Located in a replica Indian longhouse, the restaurant features salmon and meats alder-smoked on the open-pit Indian-style barbecue. The chef does best with straightforward seafood preparations. A Seattle tradition since 1938, you can never go wrong with the Iconic Ivar"s. Great food and service.

Lunch was a late birthday present. And what a gift! The seafood medley is heaven in a bowl. The view of the Space Needle is beyond spectacular and I can't wait to go back.
