I recently stayed here when walking the West Highland Way. I arrived at 6.00pm looking like a drowned rat after walking all day in the rain. The beautiful lady at reception had my wet gear, smelly boots and backpack off in seconds all whipped off to the drying room ready to start fresh the next day. The food was the best I’d had for the entire journey. I was so over fish and chips. Used to be a Fantastic place in the middle of nowhere ideal for West highland way and amazing food. BUT, you need to be aware if you are wildcamping near the bridge just past the hotel, they will NOT now allow you to use their toilet in the morning when you wake up. Even if you spent £50 on food and drink the night before in their bar, you are no longer welcome in the morning. You used to be, but no more. On that basis I can no longer recommend wildcamp nearby.
