I have been a customer with IGS for the past three years, but received a letter that they were going to switch my electric to a locked in rate that was higher than other rates that I found online and it was going to be for 3 years (longer than I wanted) or they were going to lock me in for a variable rate. Neither of these options were acceptable for me. I found a better rate and term that I liked and made the switch. A representative came to my home, asked very vague and misleading questions, and implied I would be saving money on a variable rate for gas and electric. When I requested more information, he had signed me up for the program that I did not know about until I received email verification of rate changes (much higher than my current rates). Now I'm engaged in a deadlock with the gas and electric providers because I don't want my supplier to change. Yesterday I had a Nicholas Miller from the IGS Mansfield Ohio office come to my house. He told me the current supplier for my gas is scamming customers by increasing their charges without the customer’s knowledge. He asked to see a recent gas bill so he could check to make sure I hadn’t been scanned. He told me that IGS was my previous gas supplier before the supplier I have now and as a service for customers who had been with IGS for years, they wanted to make sure I wasn’t scammed. We signed up through Vision Solar in April, 2020 to report solar energy to Duke Energy . Duke completed their process on July 14th. We have called IGS 3 times since then to ask them to activate their panel so we can start sending solar energy to Duke and reduce our costs and we keep getting the run around. Our electric bill with Duke keeps going up, instead of down because no one at IGS seems to think its a priority to activate the panel. Very poor customer service throughout the entire process.

The sales rep, Eugene, that came to my house was was very polite and fairly knowledgeable about the solar panel product and installation process. He explained the process in 15 or 20 minutes, then we waited and waited for a "designer" to provide the properly sized solution to my home. The initial system seemed slightly over sized and the cost per kWh was excessive. This company has TERRIBLE rates and TERRIBLE customer service. I was solicited by a neighbor and was not told there was a 3 year contract + an early termination fee. In a desperate attempt to lower my bills during the pandemic I cancelled my account with IGS. I explained to them their rates are too high, much higher than ****** (by nearly twice as much) and that I was not told about the contract. They refused to waive the $99 early termination fee!!! Door to door salesman in North Ridgeville, Ohio, for IGS Energy misrepresented that IGS Energy's monthly electrical fixed rate was a better deal for me than *****'s monthly variable rate. Regrettably, I found out after my first bill for IGS that ***** also offered a monthly fixed rate that was over 20% LOWER than IGS! Also, IGS has an onerous $99 cancellation fee that is substantially higher than *****'s $25 cancellation fee.

This is a "heads up" to all natural gas customers! In 2013 I got a solicitation from *** gas company to supply my natural gas. At that time it was less than *** so I switched. I didn't realize that it was a "bait and switch " situation where they put you on a variable rate, which is much more expensive, after a short time with them automatically. One of their reps pressured my elderly mother into signing up for their energy savings program, saying she would only pay $22/month for energy, which I know is an all-out lie, no one charges that little for electricity and gas on a single family ranch house.Then, asked her for payment on the spot, and when her credit card didn't work, he asked her for checking account information.Sadly, since she was alone, she handed over her checkbook so he could get the routing number, and then took her entire checkbook with him!
