Expensive, very limited menu over the Show days. Only one item on the menu gave me any interest so that was it. Food was OK but I've had a lot better for at least £4 less. The prices are similar to other pubs in the area so they're all just taking advantage. Go somewhere out of the area for much better value. On a plus side the beer is good and that is NOT overpriced!
Been coming here for several yrs, very disappointed tonight, very very restricted menu, food was okay but quite slow as only us and a family in. I didn’t get a drink, I only drink tea and the chef/manager wouldn’t allow waitress to make one, so no drink throughout. The family table had an issue with uncooked chicken, instead of apologising, chef/owner was rude and really taking no accountability. Lovely and friendly bar lady. £10 for a burger from the BBQ felt overpriced. Poor communication from the landlord: - Landlord originally advised the kitchen opened at 4pm, at which point we were then advised 5pm. Bar staff advised 6pm. - I left my bag in the beer garden (which I take full blame for), went back the next day to talk to the landlord, he was aware of the bag and remembered giving it to someone. It's not a dog friendly pub, despite what it says on the front as you cannot take dogs in the pub. There is a nice garden and benches outside but when the weather is bad it's not great. However it's friendly to humans and they serve a nice pub. Just a shame they couldn't allow dogs in one of the many rooms it has.
