Visited the hotel after a 3 hour drive from Birmingham with high expectations. Booked a luxury double room with a mountain view but been put in a standard room with no explanation. Once realized the mistake we went to the kind receptionist who advised us to wait for the manager. After the arrival from the manager (who came after half an hour) he tried to make us think that there was no mistake with the booking. We have just come back from this hotel, it was the first time ever to stay in Cockermouth and i am so glad we chose this hotel. It was a weekend away with my sisters and our children so we were nervous about it, but the staff were amazing. We had the outside Annexe rooms and they were immaculately clean and rather spacious with beautiful views. They were accomodating and very friendly.
