American Campus- ***************** is charging premium housing prices for sub-par housing. At $1000/mth, one would think everything would be up to par. We had to pay rent on 8/01/23 but could not move in until 8/12/23 due to cleaning, so we were told... That would've been fine if they were in fact cleaned and fixed up during those 2 weeks we were not allowed into the facilities. My experience was absolutely terrible. They wouldnt let me move in until after my classes started due to cleaning the apartment but it was quite apparent the apartment wasnt cleaned at all. The carpet was disgusting and the bathroom was dirty. Overall my time there was unsatisfactory. My toilet was often broken. The pool was dirty and I saw another residents dog swimming in it. Now after move out I have been charged an obscene amount of fees including charges for damage that was present when I moved in. I left the apartment ... read more

Terrible company. I called to see why I am being charged for move out fees that consist of paint fee for over 400 dollars when there was nothing major, a stool that was broken and originally broken when we moved in, and other paint fees for the living room. I was the only one charged for the living room fees when I had roommates. I called and asked if I can get them waived or can at least cancel some of the payments because I DID NOT do anything to the walls. I am giving no stars. I was pushed into paying a total of 750.00 to move into an apartment. I was told by management if I didn't get approved I would have a refund of 456.00 within 3 days, I called today and was told my refund will now take 30 dats in a paper check. So I called to ask if there's anyway I can get a direct deposit into my account for 456.00 and was told that it takes 30 days. So now I'm out 756.00 with nothing to show for and homeless!! We recently moved into ******************* Apartments in *******, ** ***** and have received a lack of customer service and truly a terrible experience.We were promised a unit with hardwood floors and instead received carpet. We have received a lack of customer service the entire time from the time we applied to and leased the unit but felt that the apartment views and square footage would make up for this.
