Great Place for big Parties – My company had it's holiday party here one year. Hands down the best holiday party I have ever been to. The food is not too bad either.
coolassmike.com says HOB sound isnt that – I've seen a few performances here and the sound was just LOUD! I had a headache and didnt hear who I came to see! The vibe is pretty sterile too! Very disapppointed!
Best night – When i think to all the places i have been to..and actually had fun this is the place that comes to mind. I had so much fun here that i will never forget it. It is huge and roomy and the service is great. The bar never gets too crowded because there is a bar on every side you go.. i give it a 10
Great, but Chicago's greater – I love HOB venues. The acoustics are usually outstanding, each one is different (but vary on the same basic rusticated, down-home look), and their talent bookers keep it pretty interesting. The Sunset Strip one is has a wide layout with several hideaway porch areas for smoking and cityscape-viewing. The acoustics and coziness aren't as outstanding here as some other HOBs (esp. Chicago), but Sunset's 2nd-level bar area opens up like a spaceship, and that's worth big points.
hollywood classic – gotta love HOB. especially the gospel brunch on Sun. Great food and gospel R&B music in a typical Hollywood, somewhat grungy setting.
Bread pudding – I was really surprised by the quality of the food. Everything was generously seasoned and cooked perfectly. The stand out, though, was the warm and sweet bread pudding. Divine. If you dine in the evening be sure to catch a glance of the city skyline by the back bar. Truly a beautiful view.
Great place for shows – HOB may be a chain, but don't let that stop you from checking this place out. Great sound system, lots of space for dancing or sitting and something like 5 bars spaced around the place. If you only get there for one show, check out the gospel brunch. Very tasty breakfast buffet followed by a two hour party with gospel singing. Be sure to make reservations, though--it always sells out.
