Incredibly slow check in. Understaffed.
I live in Houston and have stayed at Hotel Derek twice now for staycations. I love the feel, the chic designs, and ambiance of the rooms. On maybe an odd side note for some, their lobby is sprayed with the most unbelievable cologne from Tiffany's (I had to ask) and its quite literally one of the best aromas ever. I could hangout in the lobby all day just to enjoy it.
We enjoyed our stay, but the breakfasts are over priced. Not much offered - continental breakfast would be nice.
Outstanding staff from top to bottom. This property is a must stay if your in Houston.
Such a great hotel! I won't stay anywhere else in Houston. Fun and lively atmosphere. Great food and drinks and location was perfect! Staff was amazing! Hope to be back soon!
A very disappointing stay at Hotel Derek four days ago. They charged my card above and beyond my room stay which was prepaid through Travelocity. My card was taken at check-in for "incidentals" and now I cannot get in touch with anyone about the charges to my account. Front desk clerk said there was a system "glitch", last person I spoke with says she cannot see the charges on her end. I left my number for the manager and still have not received a return call. I am disputing this hotels charges as fraud.
I was disappointed with the room decor, seemed like a 70s regurgitation. The bar and lobby area was nice though.
