After living in the Austin area for 20 + years, this is the first time coming to Hoovers. I love the menu choices. The food was home cooking and full of flavor. Our server Tim was the most down to earth guy. He's perfect for here. We will certainly be coming back for that delicious comfort food.
Hoovers is my go-to restaurant when in Austin. Always the best tasting food! Food done right.

Everything was good up to desert Blackberry cobbler had a long black hair in it Other than that all was wonderful
Sometimes the food is inconsistent. By that I mean the portions and flavors of certain dishes. But, I really like this place a lot. It's a bit of a tradition for us for breakfast. I do miss the weekday breakfast but I understand. I never say no to going so the one issue will not keep me away and I will always recommend this place!
My daughter, granddaughter, and I went for our first time today. I have to say I was extremely unimpressed. Our waiter while not being rude was so down and quiet. We started with the quest with brisket in it. The only flavor we could taste was iniin. There were huge chunks of onion in it. The waiter did not put it on our bill. I ordered chicken fried chicken. Place was amazing! I had the chicken and waffles with a side of cheese grits! Service was great, it was just an all around great experience!
Went with my family to try it for the first time yesterday evening and it was yummy!
Comfort food and it's finest! The chicken fried chicken is the best in Austin!
