My wife and I had a very enjoyable Thursday night away. The staff and service were very good and the food was delicious. Free parking outside the Hotel Close proximity to Castlewellan Forest park for a nice walk. The town has some nice shops and Bars within walking distance. We look forward to returning in the near future.
Not great at all. Small room, not clean, blind was broken and bed was really poor.
Me and my partner had such a beautiful night away at this hotel, set in a beautiful location on the edge of castlewellan castle and gardens. The room was clean and comfortable and restaurant food was the best food I've tasted in a while, staff throughout the hotel cannot do enough for you and the breakfast the next morning was delicious too!! We will definitely be back
Hillyard House Hotel wasn't quite what we were expecting - I was expecting something just outside the town, rather than slap-bang in the middle of it. The food and drinks (we had a few cocktails, as well as dinner two nights) were both excellent - and food portions could best be described as "generous". My partner and I stayed at the Hillyard Hotel for one night and had a fabulous time — exactly what we needed to relax and recharge. The food was absolutely delicious, both at dinner and at breakfast the next morning. The chefs are true masters — we were both impressed by the flavours and the beautiful presentation. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with great food and warm atmosphere.
