The Hillside Restaurant was started in 1955, making it the most well established restaurant in Northern Illinois. When it began it was a small counter style chicken house, created in a charming building that had been a shoe store and a doughnut shop. Went there tonight to get dinner for take out.I ordered 2 Chicken Alfredo with bread.. The pasty was really greasy, The Chicken was hard and tasted old and the bread was hard. Disgusted..
Had dinner here to celebrate my birthday. It was a wonderful meal with excellent service! Food was wonderful with a lovely ambience. I will remember this birthday as a great one!
The prices are high and the food variety was limited. The service could have been better.
We go there often on Sunday after mass. Their corned beef hash is the real deal, better than any I've had anywhere!
