The Hillside Restaurant was started in 1955, making it the most well established restaurant in Northern Illinois. When it began it was a small counter style chicken house, created in a charming building that had been a shoe store and a doughnut shop. My favorite place to get breakfast from in the Dekalb area! Lunch and dinner are excellent too.
Great place to bring a lady on a date. Our server Adam was so quick and helpful!!

My family and I decided to try the Hillside this past Saturday night. We are always a bit nervous trying a new place, but after our fantastic meal and great service, the Hillside is by far my favorite in Dekalb. The prices were reasonable, and there is a great selection on the menu. Definitely a must try while in Dekalb.

So yummy! Butternut squash soup is seriously the best!! Staff was very helpful with the menu. The owner was there and she was the sweetest person!! Definitely recommened!!
